Trusts & Estates

While planning for our succession or incapacitation is not the most pleasant topic for most of us, it is however extremely advantageous and in everybody’s best interest to not only make our wishes known, but to also formalize mechanisms by which our instructions will be carried out in the event of our death or incapacity. There are various available tools that our estate planning attorneys at Bar Law utilize in establishing such structures. These include Inter-vivos Trusts (also known as Living Trusts) and Last Wills & Testaments to govern the management and distribution of our clients’ estates upon their demise.

Powers of attorney to ensure our clients’ financial and health-related instructions are honored and respected upon their incapacitation; and HIPAA Waivers and Healthcare Directives/Living Wills to govern additional health, medical treatments and privacy-related decisions. We not only recommend that our clients (and the general public for that matter) establish the structures and mechanisms that best fit their unique familial and financial circumstances, but we also encourage our clients to review and assess the suitability of their existing plans as their life circumstances change over time.
